Sofia is, of course changing everyday, but today I got home and she's no longer taking a step or two and squatting down, she's walking. Check out her latest video. Sofia's figured out how to pause & pivot all while walking. It's just a matter or days before she's mastered this walking thing and will be running!

Sunday we packed up the girls and headed north to Sonoma to visit Joani & Peter. Sofia's hangin' out with Auntie Joani at the Sonoma Flag Celebration, basically it's a BBQ & Beer Festival with a small play, but they had a live band and Sofia loved that!

Pat & Sofia & Stella met me at Chrissy Fields this week for a mid-week picnic. The city was actually hot so it was actually perfect near the beach.

Sofia's activity and mobility has been dialed up a notch this week. She can now transition quite well from sitting down to standing up all on her own, without the help of a leg or piece or furniture.

Sofia took 12 steps on Friday night, seven and then after a balanced paused kept going. She still hasn't quite registered that she can do this walking thing totally on her own. She is more confident standing if she has an object in her hand, like a wash cloth or a small book.

As far as crawling, she's a rock star and loves to play the chasing game. Especially if you actually get on all fours with her.

Sofia Mak grows up...

Sofia is taking steps: one, two, three! She's got her Papa's palate and sense
for discovery, but her Mama's energy and temperment.

Sofia stands up on her own and has masterd transfering, whether it's from a piece of furniture or your legs or Stella. Although that doesn't always work so well if Stella decides to move on.

May has been a busy month. We moved into our new place and have been getting settled in record time. It helps having Auntie's around too! We unpacked the last container (in the house) over Memorial Day weekend so everything has a place now, thank goodness!

Sofia is growing leaps and bounds daily. She's keeping us on our toes and advancing by the minute. My Grandparents came down in the middle of May for a weekend visit to meet Sofia. Sofia is my GMa & Papa's first great-grandchild, so a very big meeting indeed. Jen flew up from LA and Sarah took the train up so we had a nice lil family weekend.

In just two weeks since their visit Sofia has gone from being able to crawl & pull herself up to letting go and standing on her own. And over the weekend she's started to take lil steps. So far her grand total is 3 steps in one run, pretty good for only eight months old!

Sofia's personality is starting to show more and more. She knows what she wants and is getting more clever at how she communicates her desire/need to us. She's a great eater and loves trying all sorts of new flavors. Her two favorites by far are sweet potatoes & strawberries! We signed up for a local farm so each week we get a box of in season organic fruits & veggies, Sofia loves it and so do we! And Sofia loves to dance! As soon as she hears music her legs start bouncing.

Other than that life back in the city has been great fun. Our new place is in a great location, we're literally 200 feet from a little grocery store & deli, a few more blocks are you have an amazing pizza joint, a fabulous book store and most importantly great coffee shops!
